Ocala remodeling questions and answers

How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Ocala?
It depends on the size of the room, whether plumbing moves, the shower or tub, tile, vanity, glass and fixtures you choose, and what is found behind the old finishes. A vanity and fixture update and a full gut with a curbless shower are very different projects. Call for today's price, or book a design visit for a written estimate.
How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Ocala?
The biggest drivers are the cabinet line, countertop material, whether walls or plumbing move, appliances, lighting and flooring. Keeping the layout and replacing finishes costs far less than opening the kitchen to the living room. We write the scope with clear allowances so you can see where the money goes. Call for today's price.
Is my home permitted by the City of Ocala or Marion County?
It depends on whether the property is inside Ocala city limits. Many homes with an Ocala mailing address are actually in unincorporated Marion County and are permitted by Marion County Building Safety. We check your parcel and file with the right office.
What remodeling work needs a permit in Marion County?
Generally, moving or adding plumbing, new electrical circuits, structural changes like removing walls, and adding or changing windows and doors. Paint, flooring over an existing floor and like-for-like cabinet replacements often do not. Marion County requires plan review for residential alterations and the permit posted before work starts.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A full bathroom remodel usually takes a few weeks of on-site work once permits and materials are ready. Waterproofing, tile and glass set the pace, and glass is measured after the tile is done. Simpler updates are faster. Your written estimate includes a realistic schedule.
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
Plan on several weeks of on-site work for a full kitchen, plus cabinet lead time beforehand. Countertops are templated after cabinets are set and installed after that. Moving walls or plumbing adds inspections and time. We order early so the house is torn up for as short a time as possible.
Can you convert my tub to a walk-in shower?
Yes. We remove the tub, repair anything hidden behind it and build a tiled walk-in shower over a waterproofed base, with low-threshold or curbless entry, a bench and backing for grab bars. It is one of the most practical changes for homeowners who plan to stay in their home.
Do you work in On Top of the World, Stone Creek and Golden Ocala?
Yes. Those communities are in our Ocala service area, along with Silver Springs Shores, the downtown and historic neighborhoods, Belleview, Summerfield and Dunnellon. We follow each community's contractor access and approval rules.
Who does the plumbing and electrical work?
Florida-licensed plumbing and electrical contractors, working under their own permits and scheduled and supervised by us as your general contractor. You have one contract and one point of contact.
Do you help with design and material choices?
Yes. At the design visit we measure, talk through how you use the space and sketch options. We then help you choose cabinets, counters, tile, fixtures and finishes, and every selection goes into the written scope.
Can I live in my home during the remodel?
For a single kitchen or bathroom, most people do. We contain dust, protect floors and keep the rest of the house usable. If your only bathroom is being remodeled or several rooms are under construction at once, we plan phases with you so you know what to expect.
Do you offer financing for remodeling?
Yes. Financing is available for qualified homeowners through a third-party lender, subject to credit approval. Checking your options uses a soft credit inquiry, and the scope and quality of the work are the same either way.
